Voluntary
Ref: AV12
Closing Date: 07 June 2012
Would you like to help improve end of life care?
The National Council for Palliative Care (NCPC) is the umbrella charity for end of life care. NCPC leads the Dying Matters coalition which aims to change public attitudes and behaviours around dying, death and bereavement, and get people talking about the crucial end of life care issues.
The third annual Dying Matters Awareness Week takes place in May and we are looking for volunteers to help us out in the run up to and during this busy time.
The volunteers we are looking for:
- Believe in NCPC’s aims and vision
- Are happy working on their own or in a team
- Can get on with a variety of tasks around the office, from
- packing boxes to updating our database
- Enjoy doing a job well and pay good attention to detail
- Can spare a few hours or more each week
What you get in return:
- Help improve end of life care and increase public awareness
- Become part of a small, friendly team
- Learn new skills
- Receive full training for all the tasks you’ll be involved in
- Reasonable travel and lunch expenses
- Plenty of tea, cakes and biscuits!
Volunteers work from our office in London which is 15 minutes’ walk or a short bus ride from King’s Cross Station.
All ages are welcome and we can be flexible to suit your circumstances. Our offices are on the ground floor and are fully wheelchair accessible.
Please send us your CV, drop us a line or call Jane Hillier for an informal chat about volunteering for NCPC.
Thank you!
