St. Boniface Haiti Foundation is a 501c3 organization that has been working in the areas of health, education and community development in Fond-des-Blancs, Haiti for the last 29 years. We currently run a 60-bed hospital and various community development and education projects designed to serve the impoverished Haitian population in the surrounding regions.

St. Boniface Haiti Foundation (SBHF) is seeking an education and community development coordinator for its projects in the rural region of Fond des Blancs, Haiti. This position will be employed in our field office in Fond des Blancs and the coordinator will be the main person responsible for all education and community development activities at SBHF. Primary Duties/Responsibilities
This position reports directly to the General Director of St. Boniface Haiti Foundation’s Haiti Office.

1) Coordinate all of St. Boniface’s current education programs, including all scholarships, teacher training, community-based education, and school building projects.

2) Coordinate community-based programs of the foundation (outside of those overseen by the community health team) including but not limited to income-generating activities, agricultural programs, housing/latrine projects, and potable water delivery projects.

3) Oversee the development of annual work plans and budgets for the education and community development sectors; tracks and regularly reports the activities within each program to the Director General and the U.S. office.

4) Meet annual objectives of all community development and education plans

5) Oversee the strategic planning process for education and community development sectors within SBHF and conducts internal evaluations of current programming

6) Research and lead the application process for funding sources for future projects that meet the mission and vision of SBHF

7) Supervise all staff related to education and community development

8) Participate in assessing community needs to help reinforce capacity of local organizations as well as ensures the involvement of the community in all community-based programming

9) Participate in fundraising activities and donor relations as necessary

10) Complete other responsibilities as identified by the General Director

Qualifications

1) Advanced university degree in a related field.

2) Four years of program coordination experience in a resource poor setting (preferably with experience overseeing USG funded projects)

3) Grant writing experience within the context of an international NGO working in a resource poor setting

4) Experience working within the education and community development sector

5) Fluent in French and English (Haitian Creole is an added advantage)

6) Strong organizational, analytical and communication skills

7) Experience working with budgets and logic frameworks

8) Experience working with an organization that abides by A-133 audit requirements

9) Strong computer skills (Excel, Powerpoint, Word, etc.)

10) Ability to be flexible in challenging working conditions

11) Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to work with and manage culturally diverse teams.
